The most important thing you need to know about our privacy policy is that:
We will NEVER rent, share or sell your information to anyone, EVER.
Most privacy policies are full of cryptic legal terms. Here is what you need to know about what personal information we collect and what we do with it, in plain English.
Newsletter
When you register for our monthly newsletter via the website, the only thing we collect is your email address and when you registered. No first name or last name. If you no longer want to receive the newsletter, no hard feelings. Each edition contains links to unsubscribe or to modify your profile (change email address, add name, etc.). If you can't find an old edition, just send us a message and we will unsubscribe you manually. As of 25 May 2018, only people who register via our website will receive our monthy newsletter.
Your email address is stored in a contact database managed by Yapla, a reputable platform we use to manage the website, newsletter and membership. You can read Yapla's confidentialty guarantee in paragraph 8 of their terms and conditions. Your info is safe with them.
When we send out a monthly newsletter, we track its usage. We can see if your email address has opened the newsletter, and when and if you chose to unsubscribe. We also anonymously track what links were clicked in each newsletter edition. This helps us understand if our content is relevant or not.
Payment
When you register to attend one of our events or become a member, you will either pay through Stripe or by check. The only payment-based details we hold on our internal platform is how much you’ve spent and whether you paid with Stripe or check. We do not have access to your bank or credit card details. Stripe is a well-known payment provider and they are GDPR compliant, so your information is safe with them. You can read Stripe's privacy policy.
Contact
When you send us a message via the contact form on our website, we collect your first name, last name and email address. We will only keep your message as long as necessary to ensure we have answered your question or provided adequate follow-up. We won't use your contact information for any other purpose.
