If you need some fresh air and exercise, why not join Cynthia and Romain, the son of a champagne grower and a local cycling guide, for an off-the-beaten path trip to Champagne?
Draft program
00: Rendez-vous at Gare de l'Est train station
30-9:15: Train from Paris to Reims, introduction to champagne (method, grape varieties, styles, history, etc.) during the journey
15-10:00: Drive to Mailly, a small village where the cycling journey begins. Get electric bikes and helmets sorted.
00-12:00: Cycle through vineyards and forest. Various stops at vantage points and to visit a WWI bunker. You don't need to be super fit to do the trip. There are only 2-3 short steep hills. Rest is pretty flat, and with the electric bikes it is easy-peasy to get up the hills.
00-14:30: Drive to Trois-Puits for a cellar visit and tasting at a small family-owned champagne house. Yummy cheese and charcuteries board included. Served in the garden if weather is nice.
30-15:00: Drive back to Reims
00-19:00: Visit beautiful Gallo-Roman cellars of a famous champagne house followed by a tasting + Reims Cathedral + sightseeing
15-20:00: Train back to Paris
